## API changes for September 16, 2026

### New `POST /v2/device/taptopay/activate/challenge` endpoint

We added the [Generate Tap to Pay activation code](/developers/api-reference/device/activation-challenge) endpoint. Call it from your backend to issue the short-lived code a Tap to Pay device needs to complete activation. It requires the `pos_create` permission.
